Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation technique that uses a sterile blade to remove skin cells, peach fuzz, and debris. This achieves a fresh, clean, smooth skin surface and allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper for better results!

The procedure is safe with very little risk of side effects. Some patients may experience redness following treatment. There is no recovery time needed. As always, we recommend using a daily SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from damage and premature aging. Ask us what sunscreen we recommend!

Overview

Dermaplaning is a form of exfoliation that utilizes a sterile blade to gently remove the dead surface cells and layer of peach-fuzz facial hair, leaving ultra-smooth, fresh and glowing skin.

  • Dermaplaning reduces the appearance of fine lines, visible acne scars, and dark spots. It’s recommended for all skin types and is a great treatment if you want exfoliation without the risk of harsh chemicals.

  • Painless with little downtime.

  • Very little side effects. You can expect redness for a few hours, possibly longer if sensitive skin. Very rare side effects of scarring and infection are due to the rare chance of opening the skin

  • You should obtain a more healthy appearance after the first session, but best results occur with consistent treatments.

  • You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair.

  • Interval Between Treatments is 3-4 weeks

  • Anyone can have dermaplaning. However, if you are very prone to acne or suffer from acneic skin, dermaplaning may make it worse.

  • Dermaplaning can be combined with other aesthetic treatments at the same visit. In fact, certain combination treatments will result in a better outcome than either alone.

  • It is ideal to wait 24-48 hours to apply makeup to your skin
