Neuromodulators
Part of the aging process results from the creases formed from repetitive muscle movements: frowning, smiling, squinting, speaking, ‘tech neck’ etc. Injectable treatments, including Xeomin, Dysport and Botox Cosmetics are composed of specialized neurotoxins that are injected into skin and muscle causing them to “relax”. These treatments reduce lines and wrinkles resulting in a younger, fresher you!
“Fresh NEVER Frozen” is our goal!! Injection points are chosen after our one on one consultation with you, relying on our extensive knowledge of anatomy and the muscles of expression.
When injection treatments are started at an earlier age, they work to prevent the lines from forming. This is ideal as some lines can grow to be stubborn and hard to treat.
We also incorporate “Baby botox” or “skin tox” into your treatment plan. By placing small amounts of product in the appropriate layer of your skin, we can help with your skin texture, skin crepe, pore size, sweating and other benefits.

For most patients, some softening of lines can be seen within 2-4 days, with maximum benefit at 2 weeks. It is a good idea to re-evaluate at 2 weeks to see if there is a need for additional units.

Sometimes, after botox, you’ll notice swelling or mild bruising at the injection site. Ideally, we would recommend that patients not to apply make up for at least 4 hours after their treatment. However, if the patient desires, we recommend waiting at least 30 min to allow the small injection site to close and after which they can apply makeup to cover any potential bruising. It should be known to the patient that they should apply makeup gently as they shouldn’t be rubbing the skin for a few hours following treatment. Too much rubbing of the area immediately following the injections can spread the neurotoxin to undesired areas like the eye muscles and cause a temporary eyelid drop.
-
Following treatments, there can be some pin point redness, swelling, and/or bruising at the injection site(s). Ice, applied in 10-15 minute increments per hour will help with pain and swelling.
